Peanut Butter Banana Protein Overnight Oats Recipe

A popular recipe that has many people’s attention is the overnight oats, I found a fun recipe on Pinterest that I think many of you will like – it comes packed some protein so definitely awesome for some of my athletes out there. I, have not had the chance to make my own overnight oats, but I keep so many recipes of them because I hope to at some point be able to create my own because they look so good! Yumm πŸ™‚ I have had many of my friends who swear by overnight oats and say they make for a great breakfast or post workout snack as well, so definitely a plus-plus there. If you love peanut butter and banana, then you will be excited to try this recipe.Β

Ingredients needed:

Β 
  • 1/2 cup of rolled oats (regular or gluten-free)
  • 1/2 of a small to medium size banana (sliced)
  • 2/3 cup of unsweetened almond milk or your milk of your choice
  • 1/2 Tablespoon of chia seeds
  • 1/2 Tablespoon of protein powder
  • 1/2- 1 Tablespoon of peanut butter
  • 1/2 tsp of pure vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tsp of pure maple syrup
  • dash of sea salt

Directions:

  1. Combine all your ingredients into a small jar (such as a mason jar)Β 
  2. Stir well
  3. Cover and refrigerate overnight or at the bare minimum of 4 hours
  4. You can eat this chilled or warmed up and if you choose, garnish with peanut butter or more bananas.Β

      1. Ooh that’s so awesome that she liked them!! I love chia seeds I eat them for breakfast everyday soaked in almond milk with dates so I am totally adding that! I was going to replace the maple syrup with dates (they have a lot of iron which I need!) and I’m Indian so I can’t skip the salt… πŸ˜‚

      2. I have tried them but never soaked in almond milk, so will have to try that, how long do you leave them soaked in almond milk for?
        I don’t think I like dates, lol. but seems like no one is a fan of maple syrup these days! hahaha πŸ™‚ probably because it has a high sugar content unless you get the sugar free kind.
        Yeah, it isn’t much salt but I can understand why some would skip it if they have hypertension or pre-hypertension or just don’t like added salt. lol

      3. Yeah you soak it in any milk you want overnight and you can add maple syrup or whatever sweetener you want and have it for breakfast!
        Yeah it’s kind of expensive to buy pure maple syrup and I don’t like having a lot of sugar so I just stick with the dates!

      4. Yes, you are correct, it is very expensive here to buy pure maple syrup as well, so I don’t feel like I would want to pay that much if I don’t get a lot of use out of it. I might do the chia seed soak and add honey πŸ™‚ mm

    1. I don’t usually eat breakfast now-a-days because I workout fasted, so eat after my workout πŸ™‚
      I used to eat breakfast and then decided it didn’t give me good results before starting my morning workout, so now I like this better, but when I do eat breakfast on the weekends or for dinner, I love pancakes, scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, oatmeal, cream of wheat and on rare occasions cereal lol.
