I submitted a fitness/health article to muscle & strength (popular fitness site and supplement store) and they got back with me the other day and said they would be interested in publishing my article — which is very exciting & a huge deal because they are highly recognized & a huge step in my fitness career as a writer and personal trainer! so #crossedfingers all goes well and if so, they will add it to their content queue and have it published. When it does get published, I plan on sharing it with all of you, so everyone can read it!

My Second Published Article to the Editor!

Published Article on Editor’s Website

Hey!

I wanted to let everyone know that the Editor finally had the chance to look over my second article and publish it on the website, I won’t give out the title of it, so if you want to know, you have to click the link and find out! I hope that everyone enjoys it as much as I did, because I wrote it! lol. It was a lot of hard work, not to mention, I had to interview a dietitian as well, which actually was very cool because it was a fellow blogger’s sibling, I was very grateful for that. I will be contributing more articles to the site, but as of yet, have not given any thought to topics, but will be speaking with the editor within the next couple of weeks to discuss further writings and what have you. I will let everyone know when I start on a new topic for the website, so everyone is informed all at once. I will continue to keep everyone up-to date with other projects that will be coming up here within the next couple of months or so as well: podcast interviews, collaborations with other bloggers, etc. So please if you haven’t already,  feel free to subscribe to my blog because I don’t want anyone missing out on a good time! Also, I had someone ask if this is the editor who was the former editor of “Muscle & Fitness” magazine, and the answer is yes. I know I use the word editor a lot and it seems like they get mixed up, apologizes for this. I typically don’t like talking about their credentials unless it is necessary but since someone asked, yes.

Enjoy, feel free to share this article on all social media platforms. Thank you.

Calling all Registered Nutritionist and Dietitians!

I will need your help.

Random post? I know, it is 8 at night, I had nothing better to do, just kidding. I wanted to see before I go about researching this, if I had any followers, or followers who have followers who have a degree in nutrition, preferably someone knowledgeable and works in their profession. If you are someone or know someone that I can speak with, it would be a great help. Why? Well because my next article is due the 27th and I want to “interview” a registered dietitian or nutritionist with their degree or certification possibly (preferably degree) but I will consider certification. I don’t mean “interview” as in ask you questions about yourself, but questions pertaining to my topic that I need to write about (which I will not share with everyone until it is published) will share it with the person I interview. I will cite whatever information you give me as your own words, and make mention of you in the article because that is part of using a source (the same way I did in my article when I had my professor speak on the topic of plyometrics from his own perspective) – I quoted him and stated his credentials (degrees and certs).

If you would be interested, please email me or get leave a comment and we can discuss the details. P.S the interview will be conducted via email to keep it private. Thank you.

Fitness Magazine “Pitch”

pitch

Hello Fellow Bloggers,

I have some good news to share with all of you today. I wanted to announce that I have got in contact with the Editor in Chief of “Muscle & Fitness” Magazine on twitter, asking him if they were interested in having a writer for their magazine and he ended up sending me a private message back on twitter, asking that I send him a “pitch” to be considered for the job/article. I am very honored and over joyed, but I am very nervous and anxious, I have never had to send someone a “pitch” before and I was at work getting this news, so it was hard to focus on work when I was deciding what topic to talk about. Nonetheless, I found the topic that I want to pitch to him about and I am hoping I get a chance to write for this magazine, because it would truly be a dream come true. It could be the break I need, the highlight of my year, it could go either way; I could get the job and write an article or I could flop and have to savage what would be left of my self confidence and dignity.  I will not  lie when I say I am very, very, very, very, scared. As of now I will be doing my homework on writing a “good” pitch and provide him with my pitch before I go to bed, wish me luck, I am going to need it. Worse case scenario, I tried, right?!

Shay-lon xoxo
