365 days of self discovery: Day 41

What are you looking forward to?

  • I suppose my future and what all it has in-store for me; specifically, having my personal training website finished and running, creating products (clothes, accessories, etc for my brand), my first powerlifting meet next year, writing my first book and having it published  — while also having my blog(s) be able to make $$ as a side profession as an established blogger/writer/ as well as being able to write for editors of magazines and websites (having my own column in something that will be seen by many readers). In a small dose, I am looking forward to whatever tomorrow brings, hopefully positive and full of love.

Now pending circumstances, there may be days I don’t stay with the posted schedule, so it is all circumstantial but this at least gives you an idea of what to expect. Once I start my podcast & get my personal training website up and running, topics will grow and i’ll add more days or more post. I have many things that I want to do to increase my blog audience and grow my blog(s) and also build my networking skills, career, and possibly make more of a consistent income per writing as well with variety — but I am taking steps to do that slowly to keep from becoming too overwhelmed. 

I still accept guest post and bloggers & will do the honors of doing guest post for others if you would like me to. i have some topics that currently need guest bloggers, if you are interested, please send me an email and I will respond ASAP. Thank you!

Been Gone for awhile

If any of you follow me on social media, you are probably aware that I had a really downward spire rough week & avoided contact with social media, friends, family, etc. I won’t get into specifics, but I have been gone for quite a while (due to circumstances) happening in my life that came unplanned and unwanted — Today is my first day back on the blog & social media in “full swing” again. The past week or so hasn’t been easy and honestly, it is only because of prayer and having the courage to get back up again when I felt dark that I am even able to write about it. Naturally, sometimes circumstances give you a chance to look at yourself with more clarity and find ways to focus on self healing, self discovery and possibly rely on some form of spiritual sense. Well as cliche as it might sound, that’s exactly what this situation left me to do besides laying in bed all day with no motivation and no drive to talk or be apart of life’s endeavors — I have decided to take on some books that hopefully will be a positive force within my life and future & I have started meditation once more, hopefully sticking with it this time, I am going to take some steps to help myself journal my self discovery and really dive into myself & try to make myself happy with what I plan on doing. It will be some steps and quite the voyage, but I feel it will be worth it. 

I pretty much will be going back to my normal routine but with some added bonuses to my daily lifestyle & my main focus will be building myself emotionally, physically, spiritually and mentally while building my career as a Personal Trainer. I know I have been back and forth with a schedule that works for my readers so that I stay more consistent with blogging & I plan on doing that as well (coming up with a schedule) and now that my mind is less overwhelmed, I will surely do this and let people know what will be happening with the blog(s). I have many topics but I have been working on a personal website for my business, and I plan on blogging there as well, so I want to leave many topics for that particular website when it gets finished up (& yes some topics will be from this blog as well/perhaps with a new frame of mind) I need to find a way to keep myself accountable with the self discovery and meditation — so I may decide to take part in a challenge for a year or use the blog to keep me on the right path (we shall see). I will be using a journal to document my daily thoughts, emotions, the agenda and events — good and bad to keep me aware of myself. Hopefully in the end, this is something that will help to heal and build me with a new form of appreciation for myself. 

I currently downloaded a meditation app that I have been doing for the past 4 days & it has been wonderful; if anyone wants information on it, feel free to ask, maybe we can connect. Outside of that, I will be back on social media tomorrow to reply and show support — I appreciate all of you whom have been nothing but a great positive force within my blog career and life. Much appreciated and looking forward to speaking soon!

P.S I don’t have a consistent plan/routine yet for my self healing or self discovery yet, so if you have nay books, any journals or articles (whatever resource) that you would recommend, feel free to leave it in the comments, as it would bring me great joy to further my research and find a way that works best for me through your help.

Sometimes I feel like I am drowning —

Hey everyone 🙂

With as busy as I have been, I know I haven’t been consistent with my post like I was in the past and that is because I am building a new website for my personal training business I want to do & I have been traveling and out of town a whole lot more since it is the summer. 

Not to mention, I want to start up a new podcast for my business but it will be fun and lot more laid back — but coming up with a title has been grueling, so hopefully within the month that will be a  finished product. I have had a lot on my plate with this new business venture I am taking and being sponsored by two companies and having an online presence on IG, FB and Twitter, etc has been taking a toll sometimes — it can be quite overwhelming and I am always on the go, go, go. There is hardly enough time for me to just do me *hints why I am usually gone for a long period of time from this blog*. I ma not trying to avoid any of you or make excuses for my absence but at times I need that breath of fresh air & not always will I post it. 

With all of this being said, I have yet to sit down and come up with a new schedule for this blog and my LGBTQ blog — so be patient with me, but do know I will  and when I do, I will let all of you know, because I know many of you like routine and enjoyed my older days when I was posting more often and with new, fun and exciting things that led you to my blog in the first place. Nothing comes easy when you have a lot on your plate on and offline — so this might be something that ends up being trial and error until I get it right. Once upon a time, I was keeping track of all my milestones when it came to followers on this blog, but since slowing down and realizing I am not dedicating the same amount of time I once was to this blog I found there was no point in doing all of that when my stats reflect my failure to commit to consistency; maybe in the future I will have new milestones I can reflect on and share but for now don’t expect anything HUGE until I have been a more regular blogger again. I am not giving up blogging or letting go of this blog or any of the other blogs I do, they are all successful blogs that I will make into a side profession, but the amount of time I am dedicating to them will be hindered quite a bit for sometime until I can get more things off my plate and have a balance — especially since I am making a website, that will need my full attention as well. I was always told to not break off more than I can chew (I suppose that is too late, considering circumstances) but I can still find ways to manage my blogs without them becoming a chore ( I don’t like chores) LOL.

In the meantime, once my website is up and running — it won’t be perfect of course because I still have to take proper steps in having it look more professional and what not, but for now I just want it up and running with new post/and possibly content and maybe features.. we shall see (one step at a time) and once my podcast is created and running — I will reveal that information as well, along with any other projects I am working on that would be relevant for all of my readers. 

I do want to say THANK YOU, because most of you continue to keep up with my blog post, and comment and still find time to make time for my writings without complaints. I may not be as good as I once was with keeping up with your blogs, but I do appreciate the time you have taken to subscribe to my blog, follow my blog, read and share it. I know being a blogger was not meant to be easy for everyone depending on your goals, and I chose to take the long road with the most reward BUT my blog wouldn’t be as valuable or or hold a purpose without ALL OF YOU BEING APART OF IT 🙂 Thank you for all your continued support. #CHEERS

Good news with a cherry on top

If you are on my Facebook, you probably already know the good news… 

 

But many of you are not, so I have some positive news to share with my fellow readers .. 

 

Today was an overall good day, after my workout this morning, I had to train a client and then I had to work the front counter til 8pm at the gym but many things happened today that made me smile and many things have happened since today, that have enlightened my life since working at the gym and also since meeting new people and making new friendships, so I will share what I shared on FB with all of you. 

 
 
  1. Trained my client this afternoon and just love her as a person, she just has a wonderful heart and does so well 😀
  2. I had someone from the gym tonight bring me tamales, the sweetest and both of her sons are just so awesome.. the one hugged me and I always feel like family to them. I so appreciate it ❤
  3. I might have some new clients to train, possibly a couple… and that’s exciting because they seem eager and I hope if anything, I hope can raise their self esteem and give them something to look forward to when they arrive in the gym regardless if I’m their trainer or not… I always aim to build people up.. because I want people to feel like they belong and feel good about themselves because I know the feeling of low self esteem and wanting to give up and I hope everyone I train and help I make them feel empowered and cared about. I always tell people I believe in them, because if nobody else does, I want them to know I do! 
  4. I’ve made some great friendships and people who have been amazing toward me in and out of the gym, just your hello and a high five puts a smile on my face and I love you guys. I appreciate those who have always encouraged me in my lifting and encouraged me to be my best self, thank you
  5. the awesome instructor and a few ladies invited me out in the next few weeks for my birthday and I just feel like it definitely means something, I appreciate them
  6. I tell ya, this dentist who comes into my gym, he is so funny and just down to earth and humble. His conversations have always been a learning experience and something to look forward to, I love it.
  7. I talk too much and never get out of the gym on time, lol

I also want to thank all of you who take the time to follow, read and share my blog among your peers, whom have taken the time to leave comments and share conversations with me on social media. I have been blogging for a little over 2 years now and it feels like a lifetime because I have met some wonderful and skillful bloggers — people who have transformed since day one of following them and have seen me transform since day one of following me. To watch your growth as writers has been an absolute honor and I look forward to many more years of watching and being apart of your experience. Blogging has become second nature to me, a second full time hobby and job, I take it seriously and share my life (good and bad) with all of you because I want to be real and want to show my own growth, my own stumbles and my own get up moments. As bloggers, it gets easy getting caught up in the stats and wanting to have the most viewers and followers, etc. & that stuff is all fine and dandy, but for me, it means more when I develop relationships/bonds with people who read my content. I have fallen behind on post, have made changes to the blog, and have fallen short on quality of post at times, but it never ceases to amaze me how many of you continue to be there no matter. I appreciate all of you and wish all of you the best with your continued writing and may we continue to build friendships and share laughs with one another for the next many years ahead of us ❤

I’ve done it again..

Forgot to adult for the week.. 

I think my weekly planner is getting sick of me going off schedule these days, I have a planner I use and lately have barely opened it — hints why I have been behind in blogging and studying; I should always check my planner because honestly. my anxiety starts to kick in when I don’t do things as planned and then have list of task that never got done because I have been fiddle farting around instead of adulting. I could probably complain all day, but it comes down to my time management and all my projects and goals.. I have so many projects and don’t utilize my time well (anymore) — well 2018, don’t give up on me yet… I plan on getting back on track when it comes to priorities and tasks (fingers crossed) .. but I am young, right? so I should be allowed to get off the beaten path every once in awhile without feeling bad.. BUT my personality trait doesn’t allow me to enjoy my youth when I am constantly trying to keep myself on a “perfect” schedule — pretending that it is possible to do so, so I don’t freak out. Thankfully I have friends and family who seemingly understand that I am crazy and my OCD and time management skills fight back & forth which causes the HUGE debate in my head as to what to get started on first. Externally I am smiling until I get home and break down.. but that’s a whole new story for a different day. Back to what is scheduled. My workouts. & if I am lucky I might be able to squeeze in some studying before work tonight. Hmm. Wish me luck. 

 

Oh & the next blog post will begin my workout sessions….

2017 Blog Recap: My Pitfalls and Success!

thought I would take this time to reflect on my blogging career since first starting Dec. 2016. 

 

Once upon a time I was a beginner just like some of you new bloggers, I was searching for answers, perfection and followers. I owe my blogging to a professor whom gave me the idea and I took off with it – if it wasn’t for his guidance; I would have never found this passion & would have missed out on such amazing opportunities with my writing. 

 

He gave me the idea, but I had to come up with the answers, come up with the solutions, had to put forth the effort to see any success. In the beginning, I was restless, I was anxious, I was nervous and I was alone on this journey- while I had his continued support, I didn’t have the support of many others until my blog started taking off on its own (even then, the support was minimal). I struggled trying to find my voice within my writing, coming up with topics, making a routine, creating an actual blog and deciding which platforms to use. Google was both my friend and nemesis because while it was helpful; it wasn’t enough. Soon, I had to put forth all my efforts with contacting veteran bloggers with questions, concerns, and had to read blog after blog after blog in order to find my own wings. 2016 was tough to say the least and 2017 had its patches as well. 

 

In year 2017, I had great days where my stats were glowing and showering with new views and followers – I was hitting top success, BUT towards the middle & end of 2017 my blog was coming to a slow end ( I was writing less entries, views were low, my following was slow and my online presence was dwindling) getting lost in all the saturated fitness and health blogs— I struggled to stand out. My blog helped to get me sponsored as an athlete, it helped me be able to have a chance in writing for editors of very popular magazines (Muscle and Fitness magazine) and it gave me opportunities to write for online sources both paid and unpaid opportunities all the while it was tumbling down a downward slope.. 

 

I love my blog, and even though it isn’t at its BIGGEST success as of yet, I hope that 2018 will be the year it shines its brightest. In fact, I plan on putting in more work on this blog (and my other blog) than I have in the past couple of years of writing because I have HUGE dreams to fulfill and HUGE ideas that are possible and with the right amount of time and dedication, I know I can turn my blog into a HUGE success. A blog that will blow the minds of those who doubted me. In the meantime I plan on taking this blog to new heights, but still keeping it simple & still keeping it true to myself – always. 

 

I have seen my pitfalls and my triumphs within my writing – and 2018 will still have pitfalls and triumphs, it will just be a new year of showing continued growth. Many people consider me a successful blogger/writer in the fitness industry, but I don’t consider myself as such because the most successful of them are the ones who you remember the most, you read the most, you follow, you feel inspired by and have learned something from that has significantly played a part in your life, you subbed to their blog because you never want to miss a moment or story; you didn’t leave their side during bad months of writing and you weren’t just a follower of their’s- but somebody they knew and had grown to connect with. I want that. I want all of those things when people visit my blog. 

 

I appreciate all of you for being here to read this, It means a lot to me that I am ending 2017 on a positive note. Have a wonderful NEW YEARS 2018 🙂
