In this video, I explain some changes and discuss how YouTube is not TOP priority in my life because I have other obligations and expectations that I want to fulfill in my life at the moment that are more important. I created this video in hopes it would explain what to expect from me and how I plan on going about things from this day forward so no one feels abandoned. 

I Am Only Human

Bound By Flaws.

For a first time in a long time.. 

 

It had occur to me that people see me as this “super human” amazing women who lifts heavy and walks with confidence and seemingly has her life together & everything she does just seems to be #goals (my blog, my workout, my future career, my online presence, physique, etc) & this scares me a little bit, actually a lot of bit. I mean granted I am thankful that I have inspired people, built relationships and rapport with people who now trust me enough to come to me with questions about fitness/health, have had a blog that went from 0 to hero in matter of months and that I tend to make people smile with my random comedic personality BUT what scares me is that people seem to think because of all this I did do, that they think they can’t do it. Like it took some magical pixie dust and oops the store ran out of it, so looks like no one else is capable of doing AMAZING things with their own life. 

 

I hate to give it to you like this.. BUT.. I am only human. That’s right, I came out the vagina the same way you did and I ended up on planet earth just like you. my baby self didn’t have a 6 pack and big arms, I surely wasn’t tying blogs at the age of 2 and I couldn’t have been that famous because I am still broke & I am willing to bet .. no one really even knows me besides family and friends and the people who know of me online. I could lie and say I am a HUGE deal but lets get real, I am not. Do I want to be? YES! because I have a lot to offer in my field and I know I am capable of GREAT things! I believe this. I know how hard I have to work in order to keep my physique in top notch if I want the “deals” and exposure, I know what it takes to keep my blog running smoothly so that all of you keep coming back to pester me about how much you love my stuff (lol)  & I know how much constant research, learning and events it will take for me to build more knowledge so I know what I am talking about and can teach others and spread my knowledge to others who listen to me. My life is not all daisies and wildflowers with tons of sunshine – I have cloudy days. I have periods and bloating that makes me look “gross” , I have struggled with body shaming, I have had the ups and downs of having a nice physique, I have failed in sporting events, I have struggled with my own self confidence and who I am, I have struggled financially, I have lost out on many opportunities (not being good enough), I have days where my abs are no longer there and my arms look like twigs and I am crying trying to pick myself back up. I have had many days where my post suck and I felt like walking away, and for goodness sake .. I know what it is like to have flaws. 

 

The problem is, maybe not all my flaws are seen with the human eye, maybe some of them are seen and you can pinpoint them in less than 5 seconds, but it doesn’t matter because I am no better than anyone else. Being in the fitness field can put a lot of pressure on you to be something like someone else in order to gain a huge following, more “friends”, more money and more fame. I don’t mind the pressure much anymore because I had to stop trying to be like her or him and had to try better at doing what I do best: being me, with flaws and all. I can’t always show my flaws because, hey it is a business, and I have to put on a good face and a good show if I want to keep everyone else around me happy, but when I do, it hits hard — because that is the one time I can let go and just allow myself to cry or get angry. Becoming a trainer isn’t easy either, hell .. you are responsible for someone outside of yourself and being an athlete, well hell you are responsible with being “good” and if not good, then you better be able to handle the harsh criticisms because the world is ready to chew you whole and spit you out. Truth is, during this whole time of learning about myself and wanting to go the distance in everything I do, I have learned I am as strong as I allow but I can’t handle every hurdle and I can’t handle every ball thrown at me.. because like everyone else, I am human and I am going to have days where I fall and getting back up will seem impossible.

I am an Instagram Winner – first time , hopefully not last time.

I won a free custom made planner!

 

I entered into a giveaway for a free planner that a fellow blogger created, and won! I don’t know if many of you are aware of the giveaways that people do on #instagram but I try to always participate to win free items that would benefit me or my life in some way (clothes, planners, supplements, etc). I have entered into maybe 3 giveways and never end up winning but this particular one I did win and I am very joyful about it because it is very amazing looking, she did a really good job of it and secondly because I use planners – they keep my life in order (without one, I am not sure how I would survive.. metaphorically speaking and my whole world would be lost). This particular planner I am going to be using starting in March will be used as my #blogplanner so it will help to keep organized with my blog and fitness challenges and basically will be the key to all my upcoming goals and priorities that have to do with my blog, youtube, and social media. 

I told you in previous post I am always looking to enhance my blog page and content for all the readers and I always try to do what I can and so by winning this planner it will lead me in the right direction and enhance what I already have planned for all of you 🙂 

 

I will be sure to share photos of me and the planner next month 🙂 so everyone will get the chance to have a look at it before I start using it!

Talk Less, Do More. Actions Speak for themselves.

How can I say this politely without offending anyone, hmm? Talk less and do more. Sounds easy enough, but guess how many people say they will do something and talk a big game, but when the time comes, hey.. they are still talking about it and yet haven’t taken any action. 

We all like to talk about goals, talk about doing vacations and talk about losing weight, eating healthier, driving the speed limit, and what not, but as soon as the time comes where we need to take action, we don’t. We end up regretting it 30 days later and then end up starting where we were: talking a good game but still haven’t done shit about it. The majority of people who “talk” more are talking because they are hoping that someone will enable them to do it, give them a reason to do whatever it is they want to do.. so when someone says “wow, that is cool, you should do it” , it doesn’t mean back out and and turn around and count all the excuses, it means do it, like actually do it. 

 

This whole thing works for multiple things, but as a fitness/health blogger, I figured I better talk about this subject to narrow things down. So many people want to start something: CrossFit, obstacle courses, weight loss, weight gain, fitness apps, fitness blogs, group fitness, etc and yet so many of those people end up not going through with it for different reasons. I hear it all the time, “I want to start losing weight, but.. it is hard and I have tried it before and didn’t work”, why didn’t it work? because you didn’t start realistically, you started with too high of expectations, you didn’t have the support necessary and your motivational level was running dry, not to mention you put other things first and it didn’t help with making your health a priority.  Am I mad at you? no, not at all. It isn’t easy to do what we say sometimes, sometimes we run into issues that life throws at us and we have to reorganize our priorities and it becomes frustrating. Trust me, I know this for fact happens, it has happened to me so many different times; continues to happen to me. I didn’t make this post to criticize you, I made this post to help myself do what needs to be done in order to do what I want to do. 

 

I came up with a plan on how I can talk less and do more and it starts with:

 
  • Taking control of needs and wants
  • making people apart of my plans, either they support my goals, journeys, choices or they don’t, but if they don’t, get out of the way. 
  • know my purpose for wanting to do something or needing to do something; purpose helps
  • Don’t do something based on the fact others do it, do it because you want to do it
  • Either I start today or I don’t start at all (metaphorically speaking) don’t have a deadline, just start when you are ready and come prepared. 
  • don’t give up and don’t give in to negativity

Short list but helpful list. Sometimes we struggle taking action and when we do, we look for a purpose and reason and well, this list is my way of helping you and helping myself with whatever it is you need help getting started in. If we talk about wanting to do something, then let’s be the proof we did it!

What is your New Year’s Agenda?

New Year'S Day, Fireworks

Hey everybody, I know it isn’t quite 2017 yet or even New Years, but I wanted to get a head start in case I am having too much tomorrow celebrating and don’t have time to blog about it and wake up with a hangover on Sunday morning before work – not saying this will happen. I would never admit to this kind of fun! lol Don’t want to be a bad role model for all you good little noodles out there (but this could possibly happen) just a word of caution. 

 

I want to keep this particular post short and sweet. Two questions I have for you to answer:

 
 
  1. What are you doing for New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day?
  2. Do you have a New Year’s resolution? (Feel free to let me know what it is in the comment section)

Now, these two questions are easy to answer, but I want you to think long and hard about the 2nd question, because if you do have a New Year’s resolution, think about if you made it for a prior year and didn’t fullfil it, why didn’t you fullfil it? Think about why this is something you want to happen or do, think about whether or not it would be a long term goal or short term, think about the plan (how will you achieve this goal, what sacrifices will you need to make, and is it realistic). Most importantly, just think about how you will respond if you don’t conquer the goal you set (but don’t linger on it) 

 

Why I don’t make New Year’s Resolutions.

 
  • I am constantly making goals for myself throughout the year (New Year’s isn’t significant to me)
  • Half the time I forget about them within the next 3 months. 
  • Most of the goals I set, I don’t set them for a day and time, I just start them now, why wait a new year to do something 
  • It becomes much more of a fad to people – set one and say you have one and forget about it half way through the year and then start over again next year… just a cycle that I don’t want to get caught up in
  • A New Year doesn’t always translate to a “new me”, yes I am growing and learning and continuously working toward bettering myself but it doesn’t take a New Year for this transformation to happen. Some things take longer than others, but just because it is 2017 doesn’t mean “OH NOW I CAN BE THIS PERSON” lol the old 2016 me is in the trash.. no.. I don’t look at it in this way. 
  • by this time next year, everyone will be on this kick “omg, I am so over 2017, bring on 2018” lmao – It never ceases to amaze
  • I just have learned that if I want something, I don’t need to wait for it to happen, I need to make it happen – I don’t need to wait another year to make something happen, If I want it, I go for it no matter what year we are in. 

Some people may call me boring or a “debbie downer”, but I haven’t made a New Year’s Resolution in like year or two and honestly, sometimes I come up with mental thoughts of one, but then I am like.let me just write down goals and make shit happen. It works for me. The only “New Year’s Resolution” I have , if this even counts.. is to make my blog even better, to take it up a notch and really hit the ground running – I have so much in store for you guys. 2016 has taught me more about blogging and writing and making sure I appeal to my audience and I want to continue honoring that by giving you ALL I GOT. I hope that all of you have enjoyed my writing as much as I have enjoyed sharing with all of you during the 2015-2016 year, if you thought you loved it, 2017, you will LOVE it!!! (hopefully, no promises). 

 

Thank you everyone for all the amazing reads, the support, the positive feedback, the debates, the continued learning experience and the personalities you all have that have made me feel at home and at ease. I look forward to seeing many, if not all of you in 2017.  I am still accepting ideas as far as to what you would like to see on my blog (topics, theme ideas, videos, how often you want me to write, etc) I am also accepting ideas for my YouTube channel (topics, videos, editing, etc) whatever you have in mind, feel free to share with me and I will be sure to write it down and think over it when I am making final decisions.  I hope to have everything announced by the end of first week of January if possible, if not, the next week after that – depending on the schedule and how close I am in coming to a decision. Some things may remain the same, and some may change so be aware of that as well.
