Business Keeps Me Busy

Neglecting to write in my blog is like neglecting to eat for me, I get so caught up with my business & I am at the gym all day; training myself & training clients/giving consultations & then having to stack that on top of my second job (third shift) — while also juggling my website & trying to make that soar. I haven’t yet touched podcasting (I will) because I want to do it — it excites me. I haven’t been blogging on the website as often as I had hoped either / another draw back since having more clients at the gym ( I love being a personal trainer) I do, but Google wasn’t lying when it said this profession is around the clock once you gain clientale and make a name for yourself — your schedule is never the same & while I do make my own schedule each week (sometimes the club director assigns clients to me without my knowledge of having an appointment until I look at my calendar) being at the gym is like my home away from home; basically I sleep, eat and work there & I love it — but I don’t want to get burnt out loving what I do. This weekend, I took time away to focus on catching up on sleep and meal prepping and spending time with loved ones & friends (What’s a social life?) LOL.

So, in the mist of all this rambling, I am basically trying to apologize for the later than late responses & not following some of you newer readers of my blog(s) because honestly, you deserve my attention just as much as I would like yours,  but realistically, we all have a life to live and while I would love to be full time blogger with a higher paying income from it, it’s not happening and so sometimes it doesn’t become top priority over my other obligations. Doesn’t mean I don’t love doing it, I do it because I do love it & because it will one day make a good income & be something people enjoy reading and commenting on again. It probably doesn’t help I don’t share it on my social media platforms (besides #Twitter) anymore due to me being lazy & because since starting this self discovery phase of this blog — I don’t feel as though it touches on fitness/health the way it used to for the time being & that’s okay but I don’ t want people to be let down. When this self discovery phase is over, I will hop back into a fitness/health, body positive , knowledgeable, and worthy topics so that people get excited again and have something to talk about once more. I plan on catching up with blogging this weekend and making it once again a priority (small steps forward) so I will begin with this post — but be ready for more from me. Also, if you don’t catch me on here, I am always on Instagram usually & Twitter and Facebook, so make sure to follow those social platforms to keep up with my life & fun times, hard times & goofy times.

For all those who have left comments on my older post, have liked, followed or share my post, thank you for supporting my passion to write & my semi-lame post with a splash of “just interesting enough” — I promise my topics will glow once again, we just have to overcome the stagnant self discovery post for a while ( just maybe I will make a fitness/health post while doing this self discovery challenge) but anytime I blog on the personal website, I will share the link with all of you, so you don’t miss out on my personal training fun. Make sure to follow me on social media! I am much more fun on IG LOL.

P.S Do you enjoy my self discovery post? Be honest, I won’t cry – might judge you LOL jk.

If any of you are creative bees and can answer my question: is it cheaper to have t-shirt designs made on your own or to have them done professionally, let me know. I want my brand to shine & I need to make some products (Tshirts/hats/hoodies etc ) and even wanting to create journals for those to track sleep, diet and eating habits. I want to keep things interactive with & I even want to eventually make a Facebook group where people come together & share their progress, goals, etc with the rest of the community. I want to make shit happen, so it will happen, just will be in small steps (hopefully before I hit 30 years old) because Idk if I will have the same motivation later in life.

Second question of the day, would it be how can I make my blog more interactive for my readers and fellow bloggers.. I know many of you have tons of traffic with comments and likes, etc *& once a upon a time I thought I was killing it, but now, eh. So share your secretes, tell me what has worked for you as a blogger to bring in more traffic — I will use these for my website as well. Gimme all your secrets so I can conquer the world 😀

BTW, guest posting for me is a thing, so if that’s something that interest you, ,let me know & if you know anything about podcast/creating products/website design, making income from blogging, etc.. share your secrets 😀

365 days of self discovery: Day 30

Are you an organized person?

  • I would say yes I am. I use my planner/calendar daily for everyday task, keep up on work schedule, planning events, layout of my to-do list and to keep my brain in check so that I know what to expect that is “planned” for the day. I also very much enjoy an organized space; I am a little more picky about what that entails and when I get my own place, I will definitely have a place for everything and if not, then it will be stored away. Even when it comes to clothing, I like having my winter clothing separate from my spring/and summer clothing. Sometimes it might seem over the top, but when I do get my own office space besides using my bedroom, I want papers to be in folders and the room to be designed as productive space so that my brain feels at ease when I am blogging or needing alone time doing projects or meditation.

Are you an organized person? we all have certain levels of organization that we need in our lives & some can careless as to how organized their space is (wish that could be me sometimes). If you are someone who is organized, explain in what ways & leave the answer in the comments.

How to “Active” rest on a rest day

Don’t be the pink panther in this above picture..

Obviously he had too much fun the night before and now is rethinking about his actions all the while holding this last night’s beverage. We don’t want to be that guy, or maybe we do, either way, this isn’t a form of “active” rest.

Many times on a rest day, people assume it means go watch your favorite netflix show while eating bon bons and sipping on your favorite beverage of choice BUT in all reality, your rest days should be more productive but not as extreme or intense as your workout days. I mean it is okay to eat bons bons and watch netflix – because having an actual day of rest is very important in training to keep from over-training and reduce chances of injury and exhaustion. I just mean the majority of your rest days should consist of productivity and things that don’t keep you indoors sitting on your butt all day, unless you are watching my YouTube videos (then by all means don’t move until you have watched them all) – I didn’t even learn this whole active rest idea until I was told about it during college and guess what? it made total sense to me. Hopefully it makes sense to you as well. So many of you want ideas on what to do on rest days that don’t consist of staring at the blank walls in your room? good, I am here to help you with this.

I am going to name a few activities one can do for their rest days to keep them moving and grooving and heart pumping!

  • go for a walk, I don’t mean to the fridge and back to your bedroom, I mean an actual walk someplace (trails, to the corner store, friends house, etc)
  • go swimming
  • participate in some sports
  • ride a bike
  • go bowling
  • throw frisbee
  • take a hike
  • go dancing
  • scuba diving
  • mountain climbing
  • rollerblading
  • ice skating
  • rowing
  • boxing
  • jump on a trampoline
  • skateboarding/longboarding
  • surfing
  • play some hopscotch
  • take the family to the nearby park

There are many, many activities one can do on their rest days. The point of an active rest day is to keep you moving so that you don’t get used to sitting all day and doing nothing. – which doesn’t benefit you. Usually when one continues their workout routine after an active rest day, they have more energy than the one who sat all day in the house the night before. Keep yourself busy throughout the day 😀

What do you like to do on your rest days? (be honest) leave answers in the comment section.

I have some updated news – Feb. 2nd

I realize none of you care about my life and updates but listen anyways. I have some good news to tell all of you and wouldn’t mind your thoughts and insights, and even advice about some of it to make sure I am going about things in a good way.

  • I applied to be a sponsored athlete with a supplement company. They are a very small business (still growing their site) and accepted my application. I will get my contract this weekend or week, which is exciting for me. They are not a HUGE name, but sadly, I have to start at the VERY bottom and work my way up until I grow a better resume and better appearance with more exposure and do more activities that BIGGER companies look for.
  • I am thinking about starting a sound cloud account in which I record motivational topics/give advice to questions people may have or even share some thoughts on certain things going on. I do this kind of on YouTube, but not everyone has a YouTube account or utilizes it, so if someone has sound cloud , or wants something to listen to while at the gym, I figured this could be helpful 🙂
  • I plan on starting a vlog on my YouTube channel, where I vlog at least once or twice a week, just sharing what is going on with my life, family, friends, might bring in guest speakers, etc. just something off the topic of all fitness related so everyone can relate or share their own thoughts and what you, just something fun 🙂
  • I will start utilizing my snapchat and/or instagram video in order to talk to people one on one or promote things, or even to share videos .. – need some ideas of what people use snapchat for and insta for that can help me grow 🙂
  • I already utilize pinterest, so if you do, follow me 🙂 I have good stuff I pin. and love following others and getting ideas.
  • I plan on changing my blog theme here soon, once spring comes closer 🙂
  • I am still accepting guest post and collabs, I have two people I need to get back to and those will be rolling out here soon hopefully &still willing to do guest post for others.
  • I have a facebook fitness page, so follow that , hopefully once things get rolling and I get certified, I will have it more entertaining and worth your while, be patient with me
  • I am thinking about starting a facebook group that anyone can join if they want to do more challenges, motivate each other, etc. – this isn’t set in stone but give your opinions on that, I may do this on my page instead. we shall see
  • I am now writing for another platform (an online mag) started today and it seems to be getting a lot of people who look at it or whatever, so that is good.
  • I hope to change my domain name so that “wordpress” isn’t part of it. My goal is to have it changed within the next 4-5 months .. if not sooner.
  • I may be joining an affiliate program again down the road, once I get more comfortable with it and understand how to do them better.
  • I am going to continue to make challenges that people can do, as it grows to be more popular and more people become interested, I plan on giving out prizes for them.. so that will be cool! especially if I am a sponsored athlete.  My challenges, I have not decided how often (every other month, every 2 months, etc) so throw me some ideas 🙂
  • I will continue to write for the editor when given the time and have the right topics.
  • I have seen people using Twitter periscope, so may look into using that as well, if you get on Twitter
  • I will be doing Question and Answers on YouTube as well 🙂 so if you have questions, I will start answering them on YouTube and the questions can be open to whatever, as long as they are appropriate obviously.
  • If anyone has a podcast and wants me to interview, hey, let me know, I love doing those things.
  • I have skype, and have thought about doing workouts on skype with people or talking to people via skype about different things – this would be down the road, but don’t mind feedback on it.
  • As far as more on my blog – I have had people ask me to do interviews on my blog, to start talking more about specific workouts again, etc. so if you have topics, let me know 🙂 these are things I can do.

So far, that is the majority of the news, I will have more down the road obviously as things start to change and unravel. I will always keep everyone updated as much as possible whenever I can. I will hopefully have days and times of which things happen, so it makes it easier for everyone to keep up with. I appreciate the support and willingness to learn and engage with me! so don’t go anywhere, shit is about to real soon 🙂 ha
