My 12 Week Cut – Day 13 (Week 3)

Happy Monday!!! Fit Family 🙂

All of you probably thought I forgot to keep up with my program BUT no, I have been keeping up with it (just haven’t posted about it in some days because my workouts are repetitive a lot and because I wanted to give you guys something new to look at instead of sharing the same workouts) I will be doing a YouTube video today talking about my 12 week cut and some updates so that everyone can stay aware of my body and eating and workouts. I figured I would share this workout since I did go up in weight since day one in some of these exercises and let ya’ll in one a secret toward the end of this blog post.

Workout Session:

  • Incline bench press: 4 x 8-10 (increased the amount of sets by 1) 50 lb (increased the weight by 5 pounds) this was a good thing, I am feeling it very much so and it definitely is a struggle but I am happy I am able to do 50 lb at 10 reps.
  • One arm DB row: 4 x 10 -12 (increased the amount of sets by 1). 25 lb, I again increased the weight by 5 pounds and I think by next week I will be going up another 5 pounds hopefully.
  • Seated Barbell press: 4 x 8 -10 (increased the set by 1) 40 lb, increased the weight by 5 lb. Which is very good, it is very difficult, the first set always works out but the 2nd and third set gets more difficult. I don’t think I am ready to go up another 5 until another couple of weeks on this one (which is odd, since my standing barbell press is 50-60 lb)
  • pull ups: 4 x 10 (increased the set by 1) and this did make a difference by increasing the sets, I was fatigued by the 3rd and 4th set honestly.
  • skullcrushers: 4 x 10-12 (increased the set by 1) 20 lb and yes this does make a difference, I don’t know if I am ready for 30 lb yet, so I will stick with 20 lb for now.
  • Dumbbell curls: 4 x 10-12 (I increased the set by 1) 40 lb. I think next week I will try to go up by 5 lb and see how I am doing, because I do well with my dumbbell curls for the most part but doesn’t mean I am ready to go full blown hulk mode.

I have finally also figured out the numbers (goals) for my low carb days, moderate carb days and high carb days based off my calories per macros, but to be honest, this is changing rapidly because I somewhat made a mistake in this, so I will talk about this in the YouTube video instead to save you from having to read a novel.

My cardio has increased, today it was 10 minutes on the treadmill 4.8 speed and no incline. I felt good, no side stitch (I plan on writing about) because I just figured out what this was when I was getting sharp pains in my obliques. Hopefully it will help others who might have the same problem as I have. Otherwise , today I was out of the zone.. I really was and my right arm triceps  muscle hurt so much during my seated barbell press that it irritated me, I might have pulled something but I should hopefully be okay tomorrow. The secret is: Cutting is not easy! it takes so much dedication and discipline! I am feeling the overwhelming efforts.

Are any of you on a cut program? how is it going? what week are you on? have you noticed any changes or results yet?

I will share in my video what my weigh in revealed to me! lol —

Feb. 7th Gym Gains

Happy Tuesday Bloggers!

Today, I will be posting two new YouTube vids (one showing my push up challenge and the other one discussing what it takes to become a “good” blogger and gain followers”) – the second one will be a mind blower for sure, but hopefully it will get my point across well.

As for today’s workout, it went over well, I was in and out the gym faster than I have been in a while, had some regulars stop me to discuss “The Walking Dead” that we be premiering new season this month. I am excited about that! Who else watches “The Walking Dead”? I have gotten better with my pull ups, still need some work but have gotten better and that is always a good thing. Hopefully all of you had a wonderful workout as well today, keep up the gains ladies and gents.

Post Superbowl Workout – No, not cardio today. Sorry, not sorry

Happy Monday FitFam!!!!!

I just want to say BIG CONGRATS TO MY TEAM THE PATRIOTS FOR WINNING THE SUPERBOWL YESTERDAY (I plan on posting a YouTube video on my excitement).

My workout today consisted of leg day and abs – no, no cardio (this was on purpose of course) but thanks to some bloggers, whom I read their latest post about cardio .. have made it so I get nightmares thinking about cardio exercises, and now it will haunt me until I do it.. >.< thanks guys, thanks a lot. Now I may be forced to do cardio tomorrow unless I come up with a good excuse.

Today’s leg day wasn’t the BEST, but wasn’t the WORST. I figured I needed to work on strength gains in my legs more, because the endurance squats didn’t help me to build the strength I needed to lift more, but helped with my ability to continue through the squat workout without stopping midway. I did the deadlifts and squats using about 70% of my 1RM.

I also succeeded in my push up challenge reps from yesterday ( I will post the video) , today is a rest day in the challenge, yay for me! 😀

Workout Session:

  • Stiff-leg deadlift: 3 x 10, 8, 8. 105 lb, 115 lb, 125 lb
  • Smith machine squat: 3 x 10, 8, 8. 105, 115 lb, 125 lb
  • smith machine leg press: 3 x 10. 65 lb, 115 lb, 135 lb
  • Bulgarian Squat: 3 x 10 ea leg. 40 lb
  • DB lunge: 3 x 10, 40 lb

Superset:

  • Vertical crunches: 3 x 10
  • vertical knee to chest crunches: 3 x 10

Superset:

  • Goblet cable squat: 3 x 10, 30 lb, 35 lb, 42.5 lb
  • Barbell squat: 3 x 10, 30 lb

  • Roman sit ups: 3 x 20
  • push ups – 10 reps

Today, I realized my hatred for lunges have grown. I do not like them and I am horrible at them most days. LOL, Maybe not in the eyes of someone else but in my opinion. Here is a secret: I used to suck really really bad at lunges, but now, I just suck badly. Hahaha. half the time, I do them quick as possible to get them done and the other half of the time, I do them half ass to say I did them. Today, I didn’t do either, I just did them and dealt with it, from my face expressions you could tell, I was not a fan of them and that I couldn’t wait to move on to the next exercise. My push ups came easy again! thankfully 🙂 considering once the number of reps increase the more face plants I will do. LOL.

Feb 4th – Gym Workout & Challenge continues

Hey FitFam:) Happy Saturday!

So first of all, I wanted to say BIG THANK YOU to all those that stopped by blog page yesterday to take a look at my updates and wished me luck and positive vibes and encouragement, really means a lot to me and I greatly appreciate that. Secondly, I want to say, I have not yet looked over the contract, but once I accept it (if I do)- you will be the first to know. A lot of you were leaving comments about how my goal list is long, and this is very true, I may not get to all of them in 2017, hell I may not get to all of them in this lifetime, but I keep my goals fresh and new to keep all of you engaged with me and to continue to lighten your days with motivation, inspiration and fun conversation – not to mention fitness/health knowledge, so whenever I can make my blog more engaging and attract more people, I am all for it.

I also wanted to say GREAT JOB to all those that are participating in my squat challenge this month, you have been doing wonderfully and I have enjoyed getting your emails.. seems like everyone is doing them safely and correctly, which is awesome! Today is day 4 and it is a REST day, so make sure to take advantage of it and be ready for tomorrow. If you are still interested in joining in, please send me an email and let me know, not too late yet. This challenge isn’t easy, but it is a way to work on muscular endurance and your mental as well, I think the majority of this challenge is having a positive mindset because without it, chances are you won’t finish – but don’t worry about getting to day 30, worry about accomplishing each day at your own pace, no pressure and know I am rooting for you!

I did an upper body workout today, and it felt good. I am on day 4 of my push up challenge and today’s amount was easy squeezing. lol. —- but I also did another challenge for someone on YouTube who asked me to. Since I had not been active yesterday, I decided to record a video of me doing both challenges, the challenge that I did for the Youtuber was a day only challenge, but my push up challenge is 30 days. If you are interested in doing the push up challenge in March, please feel free to send me an email 🙂

Workout Session:

  • Bench press: 3 x 10, I did it at 85% 1RM, 55 lb
  • Smith machine upright row: 3 x 10, 35 lb, 2 x 55 lb
  • Incline DB flyes: 3 x 10, 30 lb
  • Seated alternating DB bicep curls: 3 x 10, 40 lb

  • Push ups: 5 reps
  • 1 minute barbell bicep curl challenge

Stayed tuned, I will be uploading my push up challenge on YouTube first and my barbell curl challenge, then I will share it on social media and my blogs today!

Squat Challenge- FINAL DAY! :) I DID IT!!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGWkq6GTcUQ

Hey everyone!

Today was my LAST DAY OF THE SQUAT CHALLENGE! I conquered it, the unbelievable 250 reps, I did it! I fucking made it! I started off now knowing if I would even get past 50, I had no game plan and I thought to myself, I wanted to reach at least 100, and call it a day, but when I reached 100, I realized, the fire was still in me and decided to continue on!

This challenge was hard, it was mentally hard because every chance I had, I could have quit if it wasn’t for the competitive edge in me – if it wasn’t the constant reminder that I want to know what it feels like to finish something like this. Many days I did this after leg day workout and fuck did it hurt like all hell, but I pushed through, I wish you could have seen the videos from the beginning up to now and how I have changed the pace and changed the amount of rest between reps, everything I did for this challenge made me realize something about myself and i am very proud of how far I have come!

Tomorrow is the FIRST day for those that signed up for the squat challenge, you will all receive an email from me when I wake up. When you are finished with your reps, you may send them via video, or just email me back , letting me know that you finished them, I am keeping track of everyone’s personally, so when this challenge happens again, you will know where you left off and what you need to beat 🙂

For those that missed out on the rules of this challenge, please click here

If you have not already signed up and would like to sign up, please email me at: Shay.moss19@gmail.com

it is free and will be worth your while, it doesn’t matter how far you go, just do your best, and I am wishing all of you the best of luck!

Who will make it to 250 reps like I did, LOL.  Looking forward to finding out 🙂
