My BLOGVERSARY! *2018

Another Year & I am Still Here.

What can I say, still here another year writing and sharing pieces of me that hopefully one day either develop into a story or starts a business where people can’t wait to read what I have to say because it will be something people will want to hear daily. Blogging is second nature to everything else I know, I didn’t start blogging with any idea of how far I could possibly go, or how far I would come — it was just my way to get my health/fitness business started, a way to ignite the important of fitness/health & a host to all my information. For awhile I started going through a couple of my old pieces of writing where the passion was fire and the likes were little to none, and started to read each month & seen the increase of readers, comments, likes, and the amount of post I would do within a day just to make sure I was doing “enough” — by your standards and mine. I started blogging with so little information and no guide, naturally I was having to do this by researching and asking other blogger’s questions (didn’t always help) but there were a few who were helpful and lead me in the right direction. By the time I stepped into my first post, I wrote something and hoped for the best outcome. Took a long time for the best outcome to happen, but it did and it has been growing since then, not as fast but steady and still maintaining some of the same faces who followed me in the beginning are still following me now, it’s wonderful! Blogging has been a magical experience with its good and bad days, and many days I thought about taking long breaks and giving up due to the pressure of my stats not doing so well, but then I seen the way it opened up other outlets (affiliates, marketing, guest post, friendships, mentors, writing for companies/editors, etc) it was worth staying to learn and grow more, it was worth seeing my stats at an all time low in order to prove that it could once more be great, once more be worthy of a following & it was worth watching myself develop as a writer and person through blogging.

You see blogging wasn’t just for entertainment and for business reasons, it was for personal reasons, I didn’t think I could find an outlet that allowed me to speak to people in the form of writing without fear of what others may think — I don’t speak about my feelings as well as others, and so when I started writing, everything that was on my mind; I allowed it to flow onto the screen and I didn’t look back after hitting “publish” — it was my way of opening up to myself just as this 365 days of self discovery has been. If you take the time to look back on my writing, you will see where the topics have changed, the amount of post a day have changed and my voice within my pieces have stayed the same — because my voice is what captured people, it was the difference between me and the next person writing about the same topic (as yours is unique as well). The foundation of my writing comes from the wonderful readers/writers whom I follow and have continued to be supportive of me as well, they are what sparked these changes in my writing, what helped me to keep going many times, and have been the reason for many of my accomplishments at one point. I owe many thanks to many bloggers who have been more than just a daily reader, but more of a companion & an overseas friend. I couldn’t possibly list them all, because this post would never have an ending but special thanks to:

Jim, Ty, PooGja, James, Brad, Bella  — these six have always been wonderful to have, no matter where I land, & no matter how much I slack, they still seem to be around when I come back. Thank you! I appreciate you & I appreciate anyone else whom I did not name, don’t feel left out, because  I recognize new and old followers alike — and I cherish every moment it has created for me and memory I can keep.

Questions for me to answer:

    • What made you start blogging, and how long have you been?

I started blogging when I was in my last semester of college – my professor had his class at the time do a blog and I wasn’t in his class but I was interested in doing the project (he was my biomechanics professor – exercise science related) and since him and I grew to be close when it came to my career goals and becoming a personal trainer, he thought it would be an awesome idea for me to start blogging because he knew I could offer so much doing so. I have been doing it since Dec. 2015.

    • What is your dream career and why? My dream career is to be a personal trainer and nutritional coach/ wellness coach. Among those two things, I also hope to become a paid fitness/health blogger for a magazine or a huge fitness company. It would be a perk to eventually own a gym and also become a motivational speaker about fitness/health. There is so much to offer in my field, I even gave thought in perhaps becoming a strength and conditioning coach since I have done that and enjoyed working with college athletes. If I can become a fitness mogul and be some kind of difference in this field- THAT WOULD BE THE ULTIMATE DREAM. ❤
    • Where is your favourite travel destination, and why? This is a good question, I haven’t traveled nearly everywhere I would like to travel, but from the places I have visited, I enjoyed going to Colorado ( I resided here for awhile) and I enjoyed Pittsburgh (I dated someone from here) – those two places were really unique and different than where I reside now.
    • What is your number one piece of advice to new bloggers? I would tell new bloggers to blog and don’t be afraid of what others may think of your writing because there is ALWAYS someone who cares about something you write about. Trust me when I say this.
    • If you could go anywhere right now where would it be, and why? I would go to a bigger city, perhaps warmer place.
    • Tell us about your worst travel experience. Probably driving from Colorado to Ohio or vice versa with my mom and siblings, my mom gets too intense during long trips. LOL.

Questions for my nominees:

  1. Do you believe in giving people “second chances”?
  2. What was your favorite childhood cartoon or show you enjoyed watching?
  3. Favorite board game?
  4. Do you prefer hamburgers or hotdogs?
  5. Do you cry at sappy movies?
  6. One thing you love about yourself?

Hope all of you nominated will enjoy my questions and answers!

800 followers .. and counting..

Heyyyy everyone!

I wanted to make a fun announcement by sharing with all of you, that I made it to 800 followers & my subscriber list has increased as well. I am so excited, this means a lot to me – not necessarily the number itself, but the reasoning behind this number.  For some reason I have been cool enough to gain followers who love engaging with me and showing maximum support on my blog, YouTube channel and other social media outlets. Not only is this number representing the amount of readers I have, but it stands for how many people actually enjoy my blog (hopefully this is why you followed me) this means a lot to me, because it is hard to make content and make it daily like myself.. topics sometimes can get dry and may seem semi repetitive at times and being a fitness/health blogger among other bloggers who write about the same things can make it harder for me to “stand out” among the busy crowd.

If you would have asked me last month if I had seen myself hitting 800 this month, I would have told you “no” because of the fact I thought I had not produced as good of content as I normally would have, and I knew faithful followers would probably not enjoy that aspect, but luckily for me, I kept all of your attention and have amazing people following me, who are patient and very supportive of everything that goes on in my life that I share with all of you. It is really hard to get a good following for myself because I have to cater to not only fitness/health readers but people outside of my niche who would be interested in reading my post and sometimes that makes things more challenging because I want everyone to feel welcomed on my page all the time and I want those of you who don’t workout or eat “clean”, to not feel like my blog is catering to only one kind of person or demographic – in all honesty it caters to a whole rage of people for different reasons. While I do keep on the topics of fitness/health and try to expand into mental health, personal experiences, stories, etc. I don’t always hit my mark with everyone, but I do always try to engage everyone; especially when you first follow me, I want to know what you are about and by learning that, I can somewhat help myself by making post that might catch your attention. This is  work in progress, but everyday I challenge myself and my writing ability in order to make all of you want to keep reading what I have to say.

It has been a great blessing to have all of you, and to have spoken to a lot of you during my writing career as well, many of you have been a great help, turned into friendships, and have been very blog positive on my page – Thank you greatly. Like I said, I don’t always hit my mark with everyone who passes by, but I really try to make some of my blog post fun and engaging so that other people outside of this field or niche will not feel intimidated or feel like they can’t relate because health is important to everyone, it is part of you and it is important that you realize this- so that you never take advantage of it or do minimal damage to it. I honestly thank all of you and sorry for the long post, but each time I get 100 more followers, I feel the need to do a grammy award speech (these won’t be going away) lol.

If you haven’t already, tell your folks about me, I am a cool gal, and I love reading your blog post and being a part of your journey’s and adventures, so always feel free to email me or talk to me on social media or whatever it may be, never be shy on this page – and if you haven’t already crack a few jokes at me during my YouTube videos 🙂

blogger-recognition-award-badge.jpg

I created this blog in 2015 in order to talk about fitness/health and how it relates to my life and then decided to take it one notch further and made it more of a informative blog along with some highly debatable topics to get people talking about it. I hope in the near future to integrate more things to this blog and make it my own personal website that continues to fill people’s lives with motivation and some type of inspiration.

My advice to new bloggers would be…

  1. Expand, read other things outside of your own niche. This is the best way to meet people and to learn.
  2. Don’t write to make money, write to share something, people will appreciate it more.

Here are the 15 bloggers that I have nominated:
